I'm a TV Star
I'm going to be featured on the 6:00 news on channel 4 this evening! There are lots of moms like me that have small home businesses (several probably reading this right now). My friend and channel 4 news reporter Chellie Mills is doing a story on mompreneurs tonight and shot footage of me and my two precious kiddos (my #1 job). I'm hoping to pick up some tips for myself from her coverage and interview with a local small business expert. Tune in tonight on channel 4...

Goin' to T-Town
I'm taking a break from appliqued tees to today to let everyone know I'm headed to Tulsa today for An Affair of the Heart. If you're in the Tulsa area or would like a nice day trip this weekend, come see us! Jenny Vanover (Doodle Design Shop) and I will be together again as "Baby Doodles." I've got some new goodies I'm excited about (pictures to come after I get home).
Have a great weekend!

"Do you have anything for boys?"
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked that question...It's true that I (and the rest of the retailing universe) make lots more stuff for girls, but honestly, there's just more to choose from. It's hard to find fabrics and designs for boys that are youthful but not too girly. But I am always on the lookout. Feel free to pass along ideas! Since I'm stuck on appliques this week, here are a few applique options for the guys...
Certainly not the creative genius behind this neck tie t-shirt, but I do like my own rendition.
I also like this guitar for the little rocker...
And last but not least, you can have the birthday tee made in any manly color scheme. Here's some fun brown & blue for our friend Ethan--Happy 3rd Birthday, Ethan!

PTO Pride
Here's a fun shirt I did recently for a PTO mom at Fisher Elementary in OKC. She's the proud mother of three and designed her own "Three Times Blessed" cross tee also pictured below.

New Obsession
So I'm borderline obsessed with applique. There are endless options--any fabric, any shape, hand or machine, satin stitch or triple stitch, etc. Many of you know I got an embroidery machine this year, and this has opened up lots of doors. I don't have the steadiest hand when trying to satin stitch around tight curves (I'd love any tips from fellow seamstresses); that's when the embroidery machine comes in handy. So over the next few days I'm going to post some of my favorite appliqued tees. Let me know if anything inspires you.

A Sort-Of New Friend
We had a great time at An Affair of the Heart OKC. Thanks to all of my customers, old and new, who stopped by to visit & shop. It was a great success, and I look forward to seeing many of you again in Tulsa.
With each show I attend, I'm more and more impressed by the "crafting" community. I've met so many talented and kind people. I wanted to introduce you to my newest artsy friend, Cindy Grubb (www.cindygrubb.com). She's been using her beautiful calligraphy for God's glory for over two decades now. I grew up with Cindy's beautifully printed Scriptures in our home (that my mom probably purchased at a craft show sometime in the '80s). It was such a pleasure to meet her in person and see how her work has continued and evolved. Philippians 4:6-7 was and still is a foundation verse for me, and she helped me commit it to memory and write it on my heart about 15 years before we ever met! Stop by her website or etsy store to see her art for yourself. You can get a glimpse of her angel-like spirit through her work, but trust me--she's even more sweet in person!
